Known colloquially as Gorleston, Gorleston On Sea in Norfolk forms part of the larger town of Great Yarmouth. Facilities include an award winning wide sandy beach, a promenade, a lighthouse, boating lake, cliffs and the Pavilion Theatre.
The settlement is located at the mouth of the River Yare that leads to the Norfolk Broads and eventually Norwich about 20 miles inland. Behind the promenade there are beach side cafes where you can enjoy something to eat and drink. Many of the shops offer a wide selection of beach related goods such as multi-coloured buckets and spades, sunglasses and beach wear. Other attractions include a bingo hall, a pitch and putt golf course, amusement parks, restaurants and pubs.

The cliffs and beach
The area is excellent for walking and the cliffs and beach are ideal places to explore and enjoy. As you can see from this image that if you are prepared to walk a few hundred yards you can get well clear of the crowds that congregate around the car parks.
The sandy cliffs held together and protected by grasses and other vegetation.
