Aylsham, a historic market town has a vibrant shopping centre and it is about 9 miles north of Norwich.
It is an ideal location to visit the City of Norwich, The Broads and the popular seaside towns of Cromer and it’s neighbour Sheringham on The North Norfolk coast. I can highly recommend, The Old Windmill for your holiday accommodation. It is also a great location for a family get together.

Aylsham and Surrounding Area
Aylsham is a market town on the banks of the River Bure. From here you can take the 9 mile, 15″ gauge Bure Valley Railway to Wroxham, the capital of the Broads. It will take around 45 minutes by train. There is a footpath along it’s whole length so if you also like rambling I highly recommend taking a walk back.
The Marriot’s Way is 26 miles long and you can access it from the Bure Valley Railway in Aylsham. This footpath follows an old railway line. The Weavers Way is a 61 mile walking route that starts at Cromer, passes through Aylsham and finishes at the popular seaside resort of Great Yarmouth.
The nearby market town of North Walsham is also a great centre for shopping.
