I am David Woodcock a professional Norwich wedding photographer specialising in small weddings. This includes photographing wedding at Norwich Castle.
The smallest wedding that I have covered to date is one in Southwold. It was of an eloping couple who were married at The Electric Picture Palace, a small art deco cinema. The wedding party was the bride and groom and the witneses were staff working at the cinema.
I thought that this was the smallest wedding party that was possible until I was commissioned by another eloping couple in 2018 to photograph their wedding, to be a witness and to provide a second witness. Most small weddings however have around 20 to 50 guests.
I love to photograph small weddings because they are often informal and more intimate. They normally provide the opportunity to spend more time with the Bride and Groom than a standard wedding and to get some lovely wedding portraits.
George and Amy pictured below were married at Norwich Castle. I first met them when they visited my studio to discuss their wedding requirements and again at their engagement photo shoot on Winterton Beach. They had 45 people in their wedding party. This is a nice number of people to photograph.
It provides the opportunity to get some wedding portraits, group shots, confetti shots and other shots as events unfold. Their wedding reception was held at Hickling Barn. As you can see in the images below a double decker bus was used to transport the guests.
