If you are having a vintage theme for your wedding or hen party, the photos below may provide some ideas for inspiration.
Vintage Wedding and Hen Party Dress Gallery
During the past 2 years as a I have seen the vintage dress theme, era 1920’s to 1960’s, recurring on a regular basis. These dresses have beautiful tailoring, striking colours and patterns. They also have flattering lines with nipped waists. Furthermore, styles include swing dresses, flouncy petticoats of assorted colours, pencil skirts and wiggle dresses. With the right hair and makeup to match the dress the vintage look can be very glamorous.
In the Lanes area of Norwich there are several vintage clothing shops. You can also find lots of vintage clothes online. Many of my customers have purchased their vintage dresses and petticoats from London based Vivien of Holloway. I can vouch that the quality of their vintage clothing is the very highest. For a photo shoot the petticoats provide volume to the dress and they hang and fit extremely well. A hint of a petticoat or swirling your dress to show off your petticoat is also a great photo opportunity.
Vintage clothes look great in the right environment. David and Lorraine had a vintage style church wedding. I also had the pleasure to photograph a wedding at the Electric Picture Palace in Southwold where the bride wore a vintage dress very much in keeping with the Art Deco style of the cinema. Train stations such as at Weybourne on the North Norfolk Railway, also licensed as a wedding venue is another excellent backdrop for the vintage look.
