Susie and Gerry chose Hunstanton beach for their engagement photography session. I love Sunny Hunny in West Norfolk, with its red and white cliffs and lovely sandy beach. Did you know that this is one of the few places on the east coast where you can see the sun setting over the sea? It also has a beautiful white lighthouse and picturesque beach huts. We were able to use these features on the photo shoot shown below.

I shall be photographing Susie and Gerry’s wedding at the charming venue of Cley Windmill later this year. So it was great to use this photo shoot to get to know the couple and to discuss their wedding photo requirements.
We picked a lovely hot day in July 2017 for the photo shoot meeting by the lighthouse on the cliffs. So we started with some informal shots on the green and by the lighthouse. We walked along the coastal path down to the beach to the beach huts. These are always lovely features to use when taking creative portrait photographs.
For the 2 hour photo shoot, Susie and Gerry decided to wear two outfits. It is always best to wear two to three outfits on a photo shoot to get more variety in your images. After taking some images on the beach huts Susie wanted some photos taken through the handle of a beach spade. She then pulled out two ducks from her pocket and told me a story.
One duck was dressed in white like a bride and the other in black hat and tails like a groom. When visiting an amusement arcade Gerry said to Susie if you can grab those 2 ducks with a crane I’ll marry you. Susie succeeded so that is why the blackboard heart states “It’s the ducks fault”.
Susie and Gerry then went to paddle in the sea and we finished the photo shoot using the beautifully coloured cliffs as the backdrop.
