You will find head shots in the “about me” or “about us” pages of a website. They also appear on social media, on online dating profiles and in actor / model portfolios.
If you are an actor or actress your head shot photo is often the first thing employers, casting directors or agents see. It is consequently, very likely, to make a huge difference between you getting work or not. You therefore need to make a first and lasting impression.
Head Shot Photography For Whatever Your Need
Are you an aspiring model, actor or actress who needs to start or to add to your portfolio? Are you a writer, poet, dancer, TV presenter, entertainer, politician, entrepreneur or a business professional who needs some superb head shots? Do you require images for your online dating or social media profiles? Does your business need images for ID cards?
Whatever your needs you will need an excellent head shot. This is where I can help you stand out from the crowd. I will provide you with engaging, expressive head shots that make you look confident and approachable. Furthermore, I can photograph you outdoors on location and indoors in a studio.
Head Shot Photography Advice
I love creating stunning head shots portraits either outdoors on location, or in a studio just north of Norwich. With free parking and private changing room my studio is available for use at any time during the day on weekdays and at the weekend.
My portable studio with background and lighting also enables me to come to your home or business premises if required. If you require only one or two high quality head shots of several members of staff, like the ones above, I can photograph approximately 8 people per hour.
You can purchase a head shot photo session from me for any length of time starting from 15 minutes. I’ll also take time to get to know you and ensure that you get the type of images required for your intended purpose. I will put you at ease so that you can enjoy your photo session. Your photos will consequently show your character and personality.
Please bring a variety of clothing options with you to your photo shoot. White and bright coloured plain tops with different necklines work well. Also avoid patterned tops. In addition I recommend a change of clothes at least every 15 minutes. Furthermore, changes of hair and makeup is a good idea if you are an actor or a model.

Actors Head Shots
Actors head shots need to show a person as they currently appear. If you have changed your hairstyle or colour you need to have some new head shots.
A good tip for actors, before your photo shoot, is to ask your agent for advice on clothes, makeup, hair, poses and photo selection.
Top Tip: A change of expression and clothes helps to create different looks for different roles. For further advice see Natalie Lauren’s guest blog providing tips on getting excellent actress head shots.
Actress Head Shot Testimonial
“I have worked with David on numerous occasions. His work is fantastic and working with him is even better. This is important. If you are not working with someone who makes you comfortable, you aren’t going to be relaxed enough to get the perfect shots you need. I recommend David highly. He is kind, approachable and most importantly, he knows his stuff. He offers a range of packages so whether you’re starting fresh, updating, or just looking for one specific photo, he can build something around your needs to get you what you want. Sometimes You Will Need More Than a Head Shot
Do my head shot photo shoots include half body, three quarter length and full length images? If you purchase at least a one hour photo shoot the answer of course is yes. Often clients need a head and shoulders shot as their main image. Many times this image needs to be supported by some wider view images.
