In January 2019 I had the pleasure to photograph David and Afag’s wedding, in the Great Yarmouth Registry Office.

The Registry Office
The Registry Office is located in the Library, on Tolhouse Street, near the South Quay area of the town. Opening times are Monday to Saturday, 9:30am to 4:30pm. Please note that parking is limited. Nearby however, there are several streets where parking is free of charge. For ceremonies, the upstairs rooms are used. One of the rooms can accommodate up to sixty guests. Access is via stairs or by lift. There are toilet facilities for the disabled on the ground floor. The room used for this gathering was modern, light and bright.
The Marriage and Alternative Venues
David and Afag had a small ceremony attended by five guests. They engaged my services for two hours. This was sufficient to take photos, before and during the ceremony plus afterwards at The Imperial Hotel. The day was cold and windy. So instead of walking around the town to take some photos we decided to use the warm and inviting hotel.
The staff at the Imperial are very accommodating. They permitted us to use any of the public areas including the fully glazed terrace where the party of guests had champagne and breakfast. The Imperial Hotel has a license to conduct marriages on their premises. This might be one of the venues amongst many others, that you consider to use.
The Borough Council also has arrangements where you can marry in the Town Hall’s Rambouillet Room Parlour at a cost that is slightly more that the cost of using the Library Rooms. I’m sure that whatever your needs you will find a suitable venue.
I wish David and Afag a long and happy marriage. I processed and delivered their images a few days afterwards. David sent a lovely message by email stating, “Thank you very much for your professional service, the photographs are great”.
