I am a wedding photographer operating at The Old Rectory in Great Melton. I recently had the pleasure to photograph a wedding and fashion shoot at this lovely vintage venue. The Old Rectory is pictured below.
The Old Rectory in Great Melton
You can almost step back in time to hold your wedding at this Victorian country house. The owner Eileen Pennington has written the guest blog below that appears in The Wedding and Special Occasions Magazine 2017.
“Whether its blankets on the ground or cut glass and silver, The Old Rectory at Great Melton in Norfolk is happy to provide either Woodland Glade or Vintage Weddings; even a mixture of the two. This venue will create a wedding to meet your wishes and fantasies. A hidden gem, standing amidst four acres of rolling lawns, gardens and wild woodland beauty, with easy access to both Norwich and London. The Old Rectory is a working family home, giving it a unique atmosphere that welcomes guests warmly.
The experienced wedding team work behind the scenes to provide the best of days for our couples, their families and friends, taking care of the details with a mix of quiet efficiency and humour. The initial meeting allows your ideas to flow into reality so your wedding is a treasured occasion for both bride and groom. During the wedding and reception the team are on hand to take care of all the details so you can simply relax and enjoy your special day.
The lovingly restored house has a licensed sixty seat dining room. The bay window overlooks the vast lawn where a marquee can be erected. If woodland and nature appeal to you then the licensed Woodland Glade is available for an outdoor ceremony.
The bridal suite is a sumptuous, bay windowed, sunny room with a canopied bed and genuine historic feel. It is in this glorious room the bride and groom can spend their first married night if they choose.
Guests have options to camp on the grounds or go upmarket with our glamping facilities. Cars can be left till the next morning and taxis called to provide transport after the reception.
The Old Rectory is full of charm and elegance whilst retaining its down to earth, homely essence, making this a venue where couples feel their needs are met with warmth, openness and a willingness to create a day to treasure”.
Thank you to Eileen for her guest blog. The Great Melton Old Rectory has a unique charm. Hence you really do feel that you have stepped back in time. Every year the Rectory has an Edwardian Weekend. The house retains the character and features of the day it was built. The grounds are also set in the beautiful quiet Norfolk countryside. As a result the grounds and the building are a superb backdrop to your wedding photographs.
