I am David Woodcock a professional Southwold and Walberwick property photographer specialising in holiday lets. Walberswick is south of the picturesque town of Southwold. It is an ideal location to visit the Suffolk coast and heaths, an area of outstanding natural beauty, the broadland town of Beccles and the popular seaside town of Lowestoft. I can highly recommend, Fern Cottage for your holiday accommodation.

Walberswick and Surrounding Area
Walberswick is a pretty coastal village just across the river from Southwold. It is popular for crabbing. It also has a lovely unspoiled beach of golden sand that takes you to Dunwich and beyond. I highly recommend walking in this area as there are so many different habitats with interesting wildlife to explore. The village has two excellent pubs, two tea shops and other stores. The Anchor Pub is just down the road from the Cottage.
Minsmere one of the RSPB’s premier sites is nearby and is well worth a visit.
Framlingham Castle owned by English Heritage and made famous by Ed Sheeran with “Castle On The Hill” is a short drive away. It is a super place to spend a day.
Sutton Hoo near Woodbridge is is another interesting place to visit. The site is best known for it’s Anglo-Saxon burial mounds including a magnificent ship, containing artefacts, believed to have belonged to an Anglo-Saxon king. Items found included weapons and armour, including the famous Sutton Hoo helmet. Whilst there is much to see, please don’t make the same mistake as me hoping to see the artefacts on the site. They are in the British Museum in London.
