Michelle and Mike married at the Electric Picture Palace. It is an art deco styled cinema and is one of my favourite venues. If you are marrying here in beautiful Southwold this article will provide you with some ideas.
After their ceremony Michelle and Mike watched a short Buster Keaton film and had a glass of champagne. They continued with a photo shoot. We started at the canons on Gun Hill and walked along the beach, finishing at the pier.
Michelle and Mike’s Gallery
This was a small and a very intimate occasion with only the bride and groom. The witnesses were staff from the cinema. It was a pleasure to be the photographer on this couples special day. I would like to thank them for allowing me to be part of it.
Mike and Michelle engaged my services because they wanted a record of their day to show their family and friends. Michelle wore a vintage dress for the occasion that was very much in keeping with the art deco style and character of the cinema. The red bouquet matched Mike’s button hole and tie and Michelle’s shoes. The cinema staff are so nice and friendly and I cannot wait to go back again on another occasion.
Michelle had planned the route for the photo session in advance and it worked out well. As you can tell by the photos it was late in the year. The day was sunny with a really strong wind. As we progressed towards the pier at around 3:30pm the light was fading quickly. There were several people en route who offered the bride and groom their congratulations.
I’d really love to repeat this photo session in the summer months. There are so many beautiful places in Southwold to use as a backdrop such as the lighthouse, the beach huts and quiet streets.
Mike and Michelle are a lovely couple and I wish them a long and happy marriage.
Michelle sent a lovely email to me stating “we’ve just looked through our photographs and they are brilliant!”
